Clean Energy Factory Expansion
This addition to the existing wind farm company headquarters takes advantage of the topographic drop, allowing for an additional floor, while the parapet height remains the same as that of the existing building to give discipline to the overall composition. While the structural system assumes the most economical rectangular shape, the facade treatment echoes that of the headquarters for integrity. The land-side elevation plays with the horizontality reflecting the dominant orientation of the surrounding space, while the sea-side facade incorporates a regular punctuation by piers holding in-fill walls with randomly placed windows, symbolizing the vertical out-reach of wind mills and whim of natural elements.
