House for a family of five in a residential town of Lakhish. Having lived in Japan, Client wished to bring some Japaneseness to this house. With a distant view of the Mediterranean to the north, it has a quiet presence on the street to the south. The living room is a 4m tall shoe box of a space, whose space flows through an engawa to outdoor where they enjoy the outdoor lifestyle in comfortable shades. The mezzanine above the kitchen overlooking the living space is a cozy Japanese room used as a guest room. The entry hall connecting the two wings has a tantalizing window assembly allowing for a limited view of the open landscape beyond.
